Dr. Brian Moran is a practitioner-scholar focused on what drives managerial effectiveness and team performance. His research explores the intersection of emotional and social intelligence, personality traits, and cognitive ability, and how these factors shape leadership outcomes, team engagement, and organizational performance. His dissertation, Unlocking Leadership in Financial Services: Emotional and Social Intelligence Versus Cognitive Ability and Personality Traits, reflects this integrated, evidence-based approach.Dr. Moran’s professional experience spans advocacy, media, entrepreneurship, and strategy. He has led public awareness campaigns in partnership with national coalitions, produced public affairs programming for NPR, directed growth initiatives for early-stage tech ventures, and built a high-volume hospitality enterprise known for its operational discipline and central role in the community. These cross-sector experiences have strengthened his ability to lead in dynamic environments, align diverse stakeholders, and translate complexity into action—skills he now brings to executive education, coaching, and applied research.He currently teaches organizational behavior at Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business and provides coaching and developmental feedback to senior leaders through executive education programs at the Weatherhead School of Management. Whether in the classroom or consulting with executive teams, Dr. Moran focuses on helping leaders use data, insight, and emotional intelligence to navigate uncertainty and cultivate high-performing, values-driven teams.
